A police constable has been arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl who is a survivor of a previous sexual assault. The victim had approached Bommanahalli police station to file a complaint when the accused constable, Arun, took advantage of her vulnerability under the guise of assisting her.
The Bommanahalli police have arrested two individuals in connection with the case: Arun, the constable, and Vicky, a friend of the victim. The victim’s mother filed a formal complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act.
B Dayanand, Commissioner of Police, confirmed the arrests and stated that both accused have been sent to jail. "Arun, a constable serving at the Bommanahalli Police Station, and Vicky, a friend of the victim, were arrested by the police. The victim’s mother filed a complaint with the Bommanahalli police," he told ANI.
The accused allegedly laced beer with sleeping pills and sexually assaulted the minor multiple times at hotel rooms and recorded videos of the crime to threaten the victim.

The accused has reportedly married and the couple have a minor son. The accused also reportedly fled the city immediately after a complaint was lodged against him, as reported by Times of India.
The Mico Layout Police are investigating the case, which has sparked outrage among the public.
