ISRO's Bhuvan Tool Finds Proportions Of India's Lands Suitable For Agroforestry. Know How It Aligns With Paris Agreement Goals
Bhuvan is an important initiative because with the knowledge obtained, the country will be able to conduct agroforestry, which refers to the cultivation of trees and shrubs with agricultural crops.

Bhuvan assesses which lands are suitable for agroforestry by studying wastelands, land cover (what covers the surface of the Earth) and land use (how land is used), carbon in soil, waterbodies, and slope. This agroforestry suitability map has been made using Bhuvan's data.

The Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO’s) Bhuvan-based tool for Greening and Restoration of Wastelands with Agroforestry (GROW) has found the proportions of India’s lands suitable for agroforestry.
