Delhi Weather News Update: Delhi is heading out to vote on Wednesday to elect a new government. The weather here has been fluctuating with the temperature rising and falling. Rain, too, has been quite unpredictable with the national capital getting drizzles in isolated places.
Delhiites are hoping that the day remains clear and cool so that they can choose their government without any trouble. While there was fog in Delhi-NCR early in the morning, the air cleared up by 8:30 AM. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather is expected to remain clear on Wednesday, February 5.
There has been a fall in the minimum temperatures by up to 2-3°C over Delhi-NCR during the past 24 hours, the IMD said. It forecast that the minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to be around 10 degrees Celsius on February 5. While the maximum temperature is expected to rise to 25 degrees Celsius. There is little chance of rain.
According to the IMD, the minimum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 12.8 degrees Celsius, which was 4.4 degrees above normal. The humidity level was 92% at 8:30 AM. While the maximum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, which was 3.7 degrees Celsius above normal.
There was light rain in some parts of the national capital on Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
AQI Improves In Delhi
According to the Early Warning System, Delhi's air quality improved somewhat with the Air Quality Index (AQI) coming down to 249 at 8:30 AM on Tuesday. On Monday morning, the AQI was above 300.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', between 51 and 100 is considered 'satisfactory', between 101 and 200 is considered 'moderate', between 201 and 300 is considered 'poor', between 301 and 400 is considered 'very poor' and between 401 and 500 is considered 'severe'.
