President Murmu, LoP Rahul Gandhi Among Early Voters In High-Stakes Delhi Assembly Polls — WATCH
President Droupadi Murmu was one of the early voters of during the Delhi Assembly Elections on Wednesday.

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi cast his vote for the Delhi Assembly Election at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi on Wednesday. He was accompanied by New Delhi Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit and other workers of the party.

Congress is hoping to reclaim its power in the high-stakes Delhi assembly polls. The Congress party has failed to open its account in the 2015 and 2020 Delhi assembly elections.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu cast her vote at Dr Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, the President's Estate in the Delhi assembly polls in the morning.

The voting for 70 assembly seats began at 7:00 am in Delhi, it is set to conclude at 6:00 pm. Voters cast their ballots for the 8th Assembly amid tight security.
The External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and his wife, Kyoko Jaishankar, cast their vote at a polling booth in Delhi's NDMC School of Science and Humanities, Tughlaq Crescent for the Delhi assembly polls. While speaking to the media, "I have been an early voter...I think the public is in a mood for change," as per ANI.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate from the Jangpura constituency, Manish Sisodia and his wife Seema Sisodia cast their votes at Lady Irwin Senior Secondary School in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

Speaking to the media, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi appealed to the people to vote for better education, health facilities and electricity and water. "I have just cast my vote today for the better life of the people of Delhi. I appeal to the people of Delhi to vote for the better education of their children, the health of their families, and for electricity and water in Delhi. I hope that 'Shiksha ki Kranti' will win," Manish Sisodia said as per ANI.
Delhi has 1,56,14,000 registered voters, including 83,76,173 males, 72,36,560 females, and 1,267 third-gender voters. The electorate also includes 2,39,905 first-time voters aged 18-19, 1,09,368 elderly voters aged 85 and above, and 79,885 persons with disabilities. Around 97,955 personnel and 8,715 volunteers have been deployed for the elections.
Security measures include 220 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), 19,000 Home Guards, and 35,626 Delhi Police personnel, ensuring peaceful polling.
