Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi met the Election Commissioner of India (ECI) at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi on Tuesday. Later, while speaking to the media, Kejriwal said they raised issues regarding violence and hooliganism. He further said that the EC has assured them of strict action and unbiased elections.
"We raised some issues because of violence and hooliganism in some places. The EC has assured us of strict action and that unbiased elections will be held." Kejriwal said, according to ANI.
Kejriwal alleged that attempts were made to suppress voter turnout, especially among slum dwellers. According to PTI, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP uses the Delhi Police to unleash hooliganism. Kejriwal thanked the Election Commission for making an exception by meeting them as parties were not entertained during the silent period.
