Rashid Khan, Afghanistan’s star spinner, created history as he registered an all-time T20 record to his name, surpassing the West Indies legend Dwayne Bravo. Rashid Khan has now become the highest wicket-taker in the T20 cricket history. The leg-spinner now has 633 wickets to his name, two more than the former West Indian all-rounder. Rashid Khan achieved the remarkable feat during the Qualifier 1 clash between MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals in the ongoing SA20 2025 tournament.
Captaining the side, Rashid Khan helped MICT reach the finals of the SA20 2025 with a 39-run victory as he claimed figures of 2-33 in four overs.

Rashid needed just one wicket to surpass Bravo’s all-time record and he achieved the milestone by dismissing Dunith Wellalage of Paarl Royals in the 10th over in the second and took his overall tally to 633 T20 wickets.
With Dwayne Bravo retired, Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir and Shakib Al Hasan are the only active bowlers chasing Rashid Khan's record. Among them, Narine is the closest contender, having taken 574 wickets in 536 T20 matches.

Rashid Khan Expresses Pride Over Historic Achievement
Elated by his achievement, Rashid expressed his excitement about reaching even greater heights across all formats of the game.
"It's a great achievement. I never thought about it, if you asked 10 years before this if I would get there. It's a proud feeling to be from Afghanistan and to be at that level where you top the table. DJ [Bravo] is one of the best T20 bowlers. It's a great honour and I'm looking forward to continuing," Rashid said while speaking to the host broadcaster.
